If you are interested or have questions please contact Cindy Johnson through the church office.
Fall Changes
It's that time of the year. Back to school, fall colors and changes to the Sky Valley Bible Church schedule.
- Men's Bible Study - A new men's study has started called, "Touchstones of a Sound Church". The Scriptures provide great insight into the marks of a healthy Christian community. Together we will consider these important touchstones and discover how God uses them to challenge and develop us in our unique roles. It meets at the church on Wed evenings at 7:00pm.
- New Adult Sunday School - We've started a new adult Sunday School class. This class will meet at 9:20am on Sunday mornings. George McGee will be leading a study of the book of Philippians.

This Sunday's Worship
Hello fellow members of the body of Christ,
This coming Sunday we will be doing things a bit different than usual. Instead of the worship team choosing, preparing and leading all of the songs we want to give the entire church body a chance to bring something to share this Sunday.
Ephesians 5:18b-20 says,
"Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
God has given us all so much and we want to give everyone the opportunity to bring your own psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. So here's some ideas & guides on what you can do in order to help you prepare for this coming time of worship together:

God has given us all so much and we want to give everyone the opportunity to bring your own psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. So here's some ideas & guides on what you can do in order to help you prepare for this coming time of worship together:
- Pick a favorite worship song that you would like to sing together as a church (we'd also like you to share briefly how it draws you into worshiping God), or..
- Pick a favorite verse or passage to share with the church (and why it's a favorite), or...
- Come with a praise for something God is doing in your life.
- If you are able to, we encourage you to lead the song yourself (I can help on guitar if needed) or if needed a small team will be available to lead a song.
If you do come up with something that you'd like to share, be it song, verse or a praise, please email me (email address below) ahead of time so I can make sure we're ready for anything that might need preparing. Though, don't let that stop you from bringing something last minute as we will be ready for playing songs "on the fly" if needed. (Note: we'll base it off of whoever sends what they're sharing to me first and then we'll ask for any spur of the moment requests as time allows)
Again, like I said earlier... the worship team is not planning the usual worship this Sunday. So bring something or we might just have a silent service!
In Him,
Ryan

Baptisms February 2011
Baptism is something we believe in at SVBC as a method for displaying our commitment to Christ. It is not necessary for our salvation, but is a symbol of our faith. Below is video and some photos from three baptisms performed on Sunday by Pastor Phil for Graciela, Tomas and Hannah. You can see from the video and photos, the joy that is felt among all involved in this ceremony.

A Missionary Message
This past Sunday, February 13, 2011, Jesse & Janel Mattix joined us at SVBC. They wanted to share with us about the work they've been doing for the Lord in Bolivia. This is about a 10 minute excerpt from the service, in case you missed it. If you'd like to listen to the entire service, the audio files will be uploaded shortly. If you'd like to know more about the work Jesse and Janel are doing, please contact the church office .
